Alright, I'm gonna try out a new thing. It's gonna be called..... Brain Farts! (Kinda a lame name, but I really couldn't think of anything else. Sorry.)
So the reason for this thing is because of my brain, which, as you might have guessed, is continually farting out weird and/or random ideas. Sometimes they're odd inventions, or ideas for a story, or a new species of animal... but as much as I like my ideas, they are, to be honest, not the best. I never really get anywhere with them, so I just have notebooks and notebooks filled with random scribbles and notes.
Until, one day, I got the idea to share these on my blog! So that is exactly what I'm doing right now. If these ideas don't do me any good, maybe they'll inspire someone else to write a story or sing a song or draw something awesome. I dunno. You can do whatever you want with the ideas I post on here, and you can change them however you want. If you do create something though, I'd LOVE to see it!
So, that being said, let's get on to our first brain fart, shall we?

(Sorry for the suckish photo quality, by the way. I have only an iPad, and as versatile and touch-screeny as it is, it is not the best art photographer. I think I'll try to scan it next time.)
Anyways, this is a scribble I came up with a couple of weeks ago- it's basically an idea for a species of animal that is a cross between a wolf and a horse. I have aptly dubbed it a "Luquin." The plural, by the way, is "Luquines." There's an extra E there. Don't ask me why. It just sounds better.
So after creating this animal, I thought it needed some sort of a world to go with it. The idea that I came up with is that luquines were originally some sort of smallish, predator animal that lived in plains, until being domesticated by humans. Through selective breeding, they became larger and stronger, and are now used as beasts of war. In the above sketch, I have scribbled down what a luquin in war tack would look like (top), and also the muzzle design for a luquin (bottom left), used for training. Luquines are rather unpredictable animals, and they have very sharp teeth, so for training riders a muzzle is often used. Speaking of luquin riders, a typical luquin warrior in battle armor is drawn at the bottom middle. They wear relatively light armor, so as not to hinder the luquin's speed. I've also put down some weapons normally used with luquin riding- spears, swords, double swords, etc. It should be noted that the double swords require extra skill to handle, as the rider needs to be hands-free for the majority of time.
That's about as far as I got with the backstory for this... I'll leave you guys to dream up the rest! I really do hope you enjoyed reading this. What kind of things do you want to see on Brain Farts next time?
