Anyways, on the subject of doodling.
You guys have all probably doodled during something that you weren't supposed to... a class during school, a boring lecture, etc. For those of you who know me during Chinese School, I doodle unabashedly in the front row, right next to the teacher. I used to get caught doodling all the time in school, and I eventually cut down on that because angry teachers are scary.
Apparently, however, doodling is... good for you? And helps you remember stuff? According to http://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-higher-purpose-of-doodling/, doodling during lectures and things can "aid in memory retention." So doodling isn't that bad, it seems.
I've never doodled exclusively to help me remember stuff like that article though... it's mostly mindless scribbles to help me pass time. I have this BIG BOOK OF DOODLING which is an accumulation of drawings in created spare time. What I doodle ranges from still lives to fanart to made up animals. (Yeah, remember that six-legged-human-cat? No? Okay....)
I think my main purpose for doodling is to a) pass time, and b) get better at drawing. Sometimes I like to look back it drawings from a couple of months ago and cringe. Or, the reason I doodle may actually be to convey deep subconscious ideas that words alone are incapable of explaining...
So do you guys doodle? What kinds of things do you like to doodle?
Annd I also have no good pictures for this post.. So I'll just post a selection of some of the less embarrassing doodles from my doodle journal! (The photo quality is really bad, but.... deal with it.)
